Investigation into guided underwater missiles

"Anyone wishing to a repulse a threat must be faster than the attacker."
It is possible for "missiles" to achieve speeds well above 400km/h in water by using the physical effect of "supercavitation".
The simulated dynamic behaviour of such underwater missiles was confirmed in numerous open field tests. The shockproof, autonomous measuring technique developed by tms (MeSy) supplied valuable data to help understand the physical relationships.
Applications use the high speeds enabled by the supercavitation technology,

  • to avoid potential countermeasures due to the required short response times
  • to utilise the inherently high kinetic energy of the mobile body
