Gwyn Winfield - one of the leading specialist journalists on the topic of CBRN defence and co-publisher of the technical journal CBRNe World - had the opportunity during the CBRN defence exercise "Brave Beduin 2007" to become acquainted with the NEWS NBC evaluation and warning system, up close in a realistic exercise scenario and to discuss the system with users and the developers of the system. In the current summer issue of the technical journal CBRNe World, NEWS is positively assessed by Winfield in an article and he calls the multi-disciplinary use of NEWS by the Bundeswehr and the civilian Federal Agency for Civil Defence and Disaster Relief unique.
